International Fairguide Scam
Several fraudulent companies, namely “Fairguide Publishers”, “Expo-Guide” and “Inter-Fairs”, are using Reed Exhibitions’ event names and trademarks to solicit show exhibitors to get a listing in their online directory. This is almost identical to the misleading scheme previously operated by Construct Data Publishers Verlag AG.
Like Construct Data, these companies use a form, which resembles an organiser's free catalogue listing service and invite exhibitors to sign and return the form. On signing the form, the exhibitor is bound into a three-year, non-retractable agreement and is required to pay the stipulated fee each year. Any failure to pay results in the fraudulent company chasing for payment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT REED EXHIBITIONS IS IN NO WAY CONNECTED TO THESE COMPANIES OR THEIR PRODUCTS
For further updated information and guidance on scams such as this, please check the Association of Event Organisers website (a trade association of which we are a member).
For information on the Official World Travel Market Latin America Directory and Catalogue, to which exhibitor entries are free of charge, contact the Sales Team. For advertising opportunities in please visit our Advertising and Sponsorship page.
Fraudulent Hotel Booking Agencies
Fraudulent hotel booking companies may contact exhibitors claiming to be either a preferred supplier or, in some cases, claiming that they work for the event itself.
Please be aware that our official hotel supplier for our events is HOTELMAP. We advise that you make your travel and accommodation arrangements through reputable suppliers and not via unsolicited phone calls or emails.
Onsite Official Suppliers
Please note that WTM Latin America has partnered with the following companies onsite at the event, as follows:
CiaSet is the official build-up company.
Integra and Bossa Brazil are the only companies we recommend for exhibitors to contract with for extra services, such as hostesses, catering, translators, etc.
EAS is the official event registration company.
Reed Exhibitions is the only company allowed to charge any fee in connection with your exhibition stand. Do not pay any fee directly to any supplier that is not Reed Exhibitions for anything, for example electricity, waste removal, extra badges, plumbing, city tax, etc.
If you are approached by someone who claims to be an official representative of Reed Exhibitions or of any of the official Reed Exhibitions partners listed above and who attempts to charge you a fee that has not been previously agreed, please go directly to the CAEX (Exhibitor Service Center) which is located onsite at the event and request investigation and validation.
